Mock-up for Subthreshold Diagnostic of Nuclear-Induced Plasmas (42 kb)    In order to determine the basic characteristics of nuclear pumped lasers, special technique for "Subthreshold" diagnostic of nuclear-induced plasmas was developed. The basic laser active medium characteristics (such as laser efficiency, generation threshold, nuclear-induced plasma kinetics etc.) may be obtained from experiments under very low flux of nuclear reaction products.
The technique for subthreshold diagnostic of nuclear-induced plasmas is based on measurements of spectral characteristics of spontaneous radiation of a lasing medium initializing by products from nuclear reactions. So, our researchers can carry out the basic laser studies before full-power experiments on high flux pulsed reactors.
